Day 1: Fez – Merzouga Desert
Your adventure begins with a departure from Fez heading south toward the Sahara Desert. The journey takes you through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing the beautiful cedar forests of Azrou where you may spot wild monkeys. Continue through the town of Midelt, known as the “apple capital” of Morocco, before driving along the scenic Ziz Valley with its impressive palm groves.
After passing through the desert towns of Rissani and Erfoud, you will arrive in Merzouga, located at the edge of the famous Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy the peaceful desert atmosphere and spend the night in a comfortable hotel near the dunes.
Day 2: Explore Merzouga Desert
Today is dedicated to discovering the unique desert region of Merzouga. The tour begins with a visit to Khamlia village, known for its traditional Gnawa music performed by descendants of former African slaves.Next, explore Rissani, an important historical town famous for its traditional souk and its role as an ancient caravan trading center.In the afternoon, return to Merzouga where you will start an unforgettable camel trekking experience across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Arrive at the desert camp where you will enjoy a traditional dinner, listen to Berber music around the campfire, and spend the night under the magical desert stars.
Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Wake up early to witness the spectacular sunrise over the Sahara dunes. After breakfast and a shower at the hotel, continue your journey toward the impressive Todra Gorges, one of the most spectacular natural canyons in Morocco. Here you can walk through the narrow valley surrounded by towering rock walls.
Later, travel to the beautiful Dades Valley, known for its dramatic landscapes and unique rock formations. Enjoy dinner and spend the night in a charming hotel overlooking the valley.
Day 4: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, depart from Dades Valley and drive through the Valley of Roses, where you can optionally stop in Kalaat Mgouna to discover local rose products.
Continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa,” before visiting the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular filming location for many international movies and series.
Finally, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass before arriving in Marrakech in the evening, where the tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel.
